Shrine to the Melted Telephone
Strange Mechina Series
2002
12 x 16 x 16 inches
Telephone, metal, electronics, wood, glass
The sacred melted telephone was discovered in a burnt-out bar in a little town in Indiana. When the shrine is plugged in, pressing the red button on the front makes an electric current arc between the two top metal rods. When it is connected to a phone line, the current arcs when the phone rings.
