A Tribute to the Lamplighters

A dozen Haiku
To cover drunken promise
Glad I had help

If I took myself 
As seriously as you
They'd laugh at me too

All important light
Springing from the desert floor
Thank you lamplighters

Praise to the lamplighters
Shouldering the burden of night
Darkness be gone now

Brilliant orbs of light
Traveling into darkness
Illuminating

Summer sun setting
Lamplighters like fireflies
My life, such sweet dust

Deliver nightfall
Lamplighters torch our way
With ceremony

Sun sets.  Darkness falls.
Not sure I'll find my way home
Lamps light in the night

Lamplighters look here
We have given you our hearts
Now give us a smile

Lamplighters walk by
Darkness turns into light now
Long robes gather dust

You are pretentious
Flaming robes and all that pomp
Give us a break

You fill up my days
You give me hope to carry on
You light up my life

It can not be wrong
When it feels so right, 'cuz you
You light up my life
