Mimic is learning how to talk. He has no programmed responses. Everything he says, he has learned from talking to others. So the more you talk to him, the more he learns.

Just talk naturally to Mimic. Though he will undoubtably give you some odd responses, respond as naturally as you can. Please, try to be nice to Mimic, if you are nasty to him, he will learn to be nasty to others.

Mimic tends not to say much, if he's not sure what you are saying. If you get stuck or Mimic gets confused, sometimes saying nothing gets Mimic back on track.
